Senate District 59 covers all of the neighborhoods in the Northeast, Southeast, and Cedar-Riverside communities of Minneapolis.The district has a rich diversity of people and cultures. Blue and white collar workers, students, and retired citizens live here. Many of the best ethnic restaurants and entertainment venues in the state are here. Many languages are spoken on the streets of these neighborhoods. The University of Minnesota main campus, Augsburg College, and the east Mississippi Riverfront are all located in the district.
